When you use reply all, there’s a chance you’re including people who no longer need to be included in the email chain. You should never use the reply all function to correct someone unless there is a need to correct some pertinent information, never replay all to or to vent or complain. (proper email etiquette) There are plenty of reasons not to use reply all, there are a few times when reply all is useful, such as if your response adds value to the conversation or to share valuable information/documents.
I usually use the BCC when emailing a parent and I want to make sure a copy goes to administration. This feature is appropriate for school so that all parties can stay in the loop on various situations. I also use the BCC function to let students know about missing assignments (example: Google Classroom).
