Students can demonstrate competencies using technology in many different ways. I personally like the idea of audio recording because it is nice to hear students verbally talking about something and hearing the emphasis that they will put on the words that they use but also many students are against the idea of sitting in front of the computer and creating a video of just their face talking so this is a kind of happy medium. Of course any verbal presentation accompanied by a powerpoint is a great way for students to demonstrate competency but another option would be for students to create a video covering the same material. As I am going to be a history teacher an option that I will certainly use for students to show their competency is for them to create a timeline for a project. This is a great way for students to show their understanding of a whole series of historical events. There are of course many ways for students to show their competency both in technology and in what they are covering in the classroom.
