1. Focus on students2. Clearly define the problem3. Give detailed descriptions of how each requested item will be used4. Explain how each item will help to fix the problem5. Do not make assumptions about what donors know, and do not expect them to do research on the items you are requesting. Explain what each thing is, and explain exactly how it is to be used in class.

Tips

Keep including the diversity found in the classroom.
Include as much description of what is the exact purpose of the project.
Create applications for student created projects.
Include a thank you section for the donors.
Change opening descriptions from "Help me help my students," to something along the lines of "Help the students of (insert classroom number) with fundings to obtain materials and supplies for their class project," or something like that.
