Gamification

I learned about gamification from Scott Haselwood. I had no idea what gamification was before the workshop. However I now know that gamification is gamifying your classroom. This is when you take your classroom curriculum and mimic it as a video game of some sort. This would mean that students could earn points or level up with bonuses. Also students can compete against each other. They have the opportunity to work at their own pace so they truly understand the objective before moving on. What is nice is that students also have the chance to redo assignments just like in a game they can respawn or get more lives. I think is great and I plan to do this as a teacher. Because failing is learning. If they can fix their failures they can prove they are learning.
