The first project I found was asking for what I believe to be a set of play scripts. I liked that the teacher included a lot of information about the diversity of her classroom, both in socio-economic standings, race, and disabilities. Touching on their lack of resources would certainly touch the hearts of donors. I also like that the teacher included information about what the students will learn when they read the play. Some of the language in descriptions could be more simple. I felt like I was reading a dramatic play and had to read her descriptions a couple times to fully understand what she was saying. I wish that the teacher included pictures with her project. There were no pictures included, not even of the classroom! This felt very impersonal to me and I would have liked to see the students or the classroom.

This project was asking for donations for a new promethean board. There is a picture of the classroom, including the board, but the board was not the center of the photo and to be honest when I first looked over this project I had no idea what a promethean board was. The teacher should have included some type of description of what a promethean board is for people that wouldn’t know. I liked how the teacher included a description of the school’s lack of resources, but I think that there should have been more descriptions about the students in the classroom. Saying that they are hardworking is vague and it would have been nice to know more about their personalities or be given examples about how they are hardworking. I also think that the teacher should have included concrete examples about what they will use the new board for. The teacher basically just says it is for learning but as a donor I would want to know what kinds of activities it is used for.

I liked how the teacher included a photo of the kid’s work on classroom values, but I think it would have drawn more attention if there were other photos, possibly of the kids if that is allowed for them. My main concern for this project is lack of details about how this will impact the classroom and the student’s learning. The teacher gives vague descriptions of what the students will do but I think she should have focused more on how the materials will transform their learning compared to what they would do without these materials. I wish there were more statements included that made the project more personal to the donors. The writing felt rushed and impersonal.
