I can use this in the classroom by contacting and communicating with parents. Since my focus is with higher elementary students, social media can be a touchy subject with privacy and age to have them do a twitter chat themselves. I could also use twitter chats just to gain my knowledge and skills as a teacher. This could also allow me to share my students work and we could use twitter chat with other classes to comment on other student's work.
