Badge Overview

Getting started...

This badge recognizes trainers at the Coaching Assistant level as defined by the INTERNATIONAL SPORT COACHING FRAMEWORK.  As such they are capable of teaching Beginner level group and individual lessons in foil in skills for Ranks 1, 2, and 3 in the Academy’s skill development program.  In special cases individuals who will teach only classical saber or dueling sword (classical epee) may qualify as Classical Fencing Demonstrators.  This rank is the first professional credential for classical fencers who wish to make teaching and training classical fencers a significant part of their fencing experience.  Candidates for Classical Fencing Demonstrator must be at least 13 years of age and have at least one year of engagement in an active classical fencing program and technical command of the skills taught in Ranks 1 through 3 in the Classical Academy of Arms Skill Development Program.  Fully meeting requirements for this rank should require approximately 72 hours plus time required for development of individual proficiency.
