AP lang review

This training discussed strategies needed to teach AP Language. We covered multiple rhetorical aspects, scoring, vocabulary and ways to improve and grow as writers. Vocabulary is extremely important in this class.

AP World History University of Tulsa June 2017

I learned so much from this training, including the requirements for the course, best teaching practices and how to incorporate AP Test requirements into the class. This session allowed me to reflect on my own teaching and how to better prepare myself. While it is overwhelming, it really did help me prepare for my first year teaching the course.

AP World History reflection

Every time that I attend an AP training I come away with a better understanding of the class and the exam. We spent time practicing grading Document Based Questions as well as long essays. With this practice I was able to better instruct my students how to construct a solid essay.

Free Response Question grading

This training gave me a better understanding of how specific the AP Statistics graders are when reviewing the free response questions that make up 50% of the exam score. I will need to become more purposeful in my grading on tests and show the students the ideal solution and how their responses compare to it to give them a better understanding of the exam grading.
