Learn how to apply for a badge, and post answers to these questions: For most badges, does your project need to use all the tools listed? Who is the current evaluator for your favorite software? Should you press "Request Feedback" before or after you show your project to the evaluator?
When you want to earn a badge, these are the steps you should follow to get it:
  1. Look at the badge requirements. Go to the badge you're interested in and click "More info" on each requirement to see its details.
  2. Click "Join this badge." This way badgelist knows you want to work on that badge and will show you the options for submitting your evidence when you need them in step 4.
  3. Complete the requirements. For most badges, this means two things:
    1. Complete a project using some of the badge's required tools. this could be any project that you care about. While you don't need to use every tool listed in your project, you should be familiar with each tool and be able to explain each one.
    2. Email the badge's sage, or meet with them if possible. Show them your project, explain how you made it, and demonstrate your skills with any other skills the badge requires that weren't in your project. The evaluator will either say you're good to go, or ask you to learn and do something more, then talk to them again. (You can find a list of who the sages are for each program at https://wiki.learnsoftware.org/current-sages/.
  4. Add your evidence on badgelist. On each badge requirement, click "Post your evidence."
    1. Upload your project to the cloud and paste a link to it on the "Complete a Project" requirement
    2. Write in the name of the sage and the date when you met with them on the "Demonstrate Your Skills to an Evaluator" requirement.
  5. On the badge's page, click on "View Badge Portfolio" then click "Request feedback." This submits your finished and approved project so we can give you the badge you've earned at the next team meeting!

Applying for badges

For most badges, you don't need to use all of the tools, but you need to be bale to explain all of them. The Sage for my favorite software (Word) is Brooke. I should press "ask for feedback" after I've shown the project to the evaluator.

For most badges, your project does not need to use all the tools listed. My favorite software doesn't have a current evaluator, so it would go to Nathaniel. You press request feedback after you show your project to the evaluator.

Badge Steps

1. Our projects do not need to use all the tools listed, but we should be able to explain what each tool is/have learned each tool.
2. The software I am most familiar with aside from the Microsoft products is InDesign (Nathaniel), but I could see myself enjoying Illustrator (Karlee).
3."Request Feedback" should be pressed only after meeting with the correct evaluator.
