For six years, I coordinated the CLC initiative at two schools in Culpeper, Virginia. My efforts included building a plan for sustaining the initiative by working closely with central office staff and building leadership as well as instructional coaching for teachers on SIM. During this time, I presented CLC overviews for parents, teachers, students, administrators, and the school board. I also collaborated with stakeholders in building professional learning plans and communication plans about the CLC. I played an active role on the central office literacy committee that developed a MTSS guidebook to support schools in implementing a tiered system of supports, which included use of SIM for all secondary schools in the division.
