My students need access to diverse graphic novels such as Persepolis, Maus, American Born Chinese, and Pride of Baghdad in order to better represent the literary merit that comics contain. I have the honor of being able to teach the inaugural Culture of Comic Books class here at my high school at the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
