I find Code.org to be extremely useful and intuitive. Coding and programming skills help students to become competent in computer science and STEM subjects. I admire the fact that the website provides fun and interactive examples to keep kids engaged. I appreciated the fact that the program did not require students to type lines of code, but gave them tangible examples of commands and events in the form of a puzzle to teach them the concept of coding without the more technical aspects.
I would certainly be interested in using this program in my future classroom. However, I might consider it to be more supplemental rather than an independent lesson. I feel it would be best implemented as a one-person activity either during recess, free time, or at home.
