This lesson went well with our class.  The students had already used the Concept Comparison Routine in a previous lesson so they had no difficulties remember what to do in each section; however, as a precaution, I still explained each section of the routine prior to completing. The students had watched the latest movie version a couple of weeks prior to actually having to use the details to compare/contrast to the book.  The students had no difficulties remembering details in order to complete the table after reading the book, which was a pleasant surprise.  The students actually recalled very specific details, with little prompting from us.  The only challenge we thought we might encounter was the students not remembering details from the movie to help carry the discussion; however, as stated above, this did not happen.  If I was to use this routine again comparing and contrasting a movie and a piece o f literature, I would be sure to lessen the amount of time between seeing the movie and reading the story.
