Context
The <app-route> component is used in the Polymer apps to handle client-side routing. It enables a data-binding-focused way to map urls from the browser into routes and route-focused data available to the views. It is able to intercept the browser navigation events and make the SPA (single-page application) feel like a normal page-based browsing experience (except way snappier, of course).
