What are three innovative ideas you picked up from the EDcamp sessions you attended?

All posted evidence

3 Takeaways

1. I made connections with authors that are willing to Skype with classrooms.

2. A couple of quotes that have stayed with me from the keynote speaker (Katie Perez)  are:
  • Literature & hope (we borrow hope from characters)
  • Don't make superficial connections with Ss…spread hope
3. My third takeaway was from a session I sat in on about writing. We discussed ways to build a writing community within our classroom.

So much fun~

Big Takeaways, a question and a bonus:
1- Randy Watson talked about changes to KS education. I tweeted my fav quote - 14% don't graduate. "Teachers didn't create this system but need to be part of un-creating it" It gets me so excited thinking about solving problems.
2. Gamification in the classroom - Got to try Classcraft. It's kinda of like class dojo but built for my older students.
3. I was nervous going to an Edcamp outside of Turner. It was really laid back and fun. Next time I think I could present.

A question I still have from the session about Innovation - What does an innovation specialist do in school districts and how much do they get paid?

A bonus - I won a free subscription to Kidblog and Moby Max
