Aurasma Reflection

It was super easy to set up. I used mostly existing videos and tried to think of ways that could be useful to have trigger images for. I saw a lot of great ideas for using Aurasma when I was researching it. One of my favorites it was using it for parent teacher conferences. When you scanned the student's work, it would link to a video of the student talking about their project. The thing that holds me back from using it more is that the person using it has to be subscribed to your channel. It's also a large app, so it takes a lot of space on the kids' iPads. If we were going to go to the trouble of setting it up, we would have to use it often. 

I absolutely love using Aurasma and can't wait to use it at the beginning of the year next year. 

I'd like to use it to introduce classroom and school expectations at the beginning of the year. I would take pictures of different objects around the classroom and school and have a video describing the different expectations. You could even have your current students do the videos at the end of the year, so that students will be learning from other students. The activity would be a scavenger hunt/ quest of some sort! 

The ipad App is definitely more user friendly than using Aurasma on the computer. However, I like to download videos from internet and use them in Aurasma, so I have to use desktop. It is doable and you can learn it, it is just not as easy as the app!

I really like Aurasma! I am glad to see that it is part of the badges. It is an app that must be used by many in order for it to be effective. I can use it in my classroom with my students, however,  if other teachers and students aren't using it what good is it sharing just in my classroom:/ it is very time consuming and a bit complicated to teach students to use, but very doable. If  more teachers in our building would get on board with using it I would definitely like to use it. I would even enjoy creating another yearbook that used Aurasma.
