This was a great video to watch to help me out making my aura! I first heard about it when I was at ESU, it seems like it is even better now

Aurasma

My initial thoughts are:

Aurasma may be an interesting hook at the beginning of a lesson.

It it may also be a way for students to use it in ELA to show  a photo and use the app to show a theme or main idea of a passage.

Very neat!

With AR being the new technology push, this app could make way for really cool and creative projects on any topic. Allowing the students to create images that move or pop could bring projects to life.

After searching around on the Aurasma website I decided to search specifically for examples of Auras in the elementary classroom. I think there are some interesting ways to utilize Aurasma in a primary classroom but logistically they would need to be teacher-created for students to just scan.

Student taught me

Travis showed me Aurasma a little no time ago. I thought it was awesome then. I tried to figure it out but got frustrated and moved on to something else. I couldn't understand how to get people to see an Aura. I was frustrated that they had to subscribe to my channel. Fast forward, I started a thing to have students teach me tech. One of my students signed up right away to teach me Aurasma. We had lunch and she convinced me that the subscription thing is no big deal. So we made a few Auras for fun. Can't wait to have the kids make some too.

Thoughts so far

As I was creating it, I was frustrated. There is definitely a learning curve to using the program. I had to watch several youtube tutorials. HOWEVER, when I had my final product, I fell in love. How cooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I know how to use it, I think it will be much easier to make future ones. I can't seem to figure out how to share an aura. Like make a link to the aura??? I'd love to see how others teachers use this. I don't suppose you can print it off and it will make the video. Can you? Wondering how I could have stations with different Aurasmas and students would go to them and scan. Would I have to have it pulled up on an ipad or the smart board?
