Keynote Awesome-ness!

Tool = I am excited to start using Autocrat with my Google Form for Status of the Class (daily monitoring for reading).
Celebrate = I will celebrate this effort by sharing my new knowledge with other educators/staff members who are ready to learn about Autocrat and /or Google Forms!
Substitue = I will use Autocrat to substitute printing off Google Sheets that are difficult to read when stuents write detailed answers that get cutt off in Sheets.  Autocrat will allow me to create a Google Doc that prints the information neatly and with ease.

I will use google forms with parents, instead of emails and I will celebrate because my life will be easier and I will be learning!!

Managing the Change

1. New Tool= Badgelist with my students. I will probably start with badges for non-academic work- leadership contributions, big buddy help, etc .Can't wait to get started!
2. Celebrate= Share with others how/why I'm using this tool and what I've learned!
3. Substitution= no more keeping notes on how leadership students have contributed

I commit to celebrating achievements and ideas, using a growth-minded approach to challenges, remembering that I have YET to solve them.

I will create a website to communicate with parents in GD. I will seek help to make it happen. This will be in place of Shutterfly.

Thinglink, Canva, Badgelist, Remind

None of the above applications have I mastered yet.

But I will give them a shot this year.  Thinglink and Canva can substitute for pencil-and-paper California maps.  Students can add locations of important places as well as historical facts on the interactive map I created on Thinglink.  I am excited to implement this technology.

Remind will be just an extra way for parents to stay connected to school happenings.  It's like reminder emails for the new generation.

I think I am most excited about Badgelist.  It will be a great way to inspire kids to go the extra mile, to differentiate, and to CELEBRATE!

Managing change

I am committed to use Google Classroom this next year by allowing students paperless assignments. I will celebrate my successes and flops with my grade level partner and the students. One practice that will be substituted would be group projects and the ability to collaborate without having to find extra time to get together.

classroom website

1. Develop a classroom website to be attached to my school's website.
2. Go out to lunch with my friends to show them the website.
3. I will no longer send home a zerox copy of my lesson plan and monthly reading charts.  Parents will be able to access my website and see what if happening in the classroom each month.

I will use Google Sheets to help collect student behavior data.

1) I want to use Google Sheets to track student behavior at different times with different staff members.

2) I will try easy things first and share with colleagues. I will enjoy the process of learning and adapting together.

3) The Google Sheets may replace the paper forms to collect student behavior data.

Substituting is O.K.!

After listening to the keynote speaker it has helped me realize that the tools that I am learning throughout the Google Bootcamp don't have to be perfect right away. I like starting out by substituting and taking baby steps to become better at integrating technology into my classroom.
