How did you teach your students about digital citizenship? Why is this a necessary skill for students to have?

Promoting Digital Citizenship

I promote digital citizenship in the classroom by:
* making sure students know what it really is;
* helping students to be aware of its importance;
* helping students to become responsible digital citizens.
I use varied strategies. Students also contribute with their knowledge on the subject.

Cittadini digitali consapevoli. Corsi di cittadinanza digitale. Corsi per riconoscere le fake news

Nancy's "non-example" Reflection

How about I pretend to be someone who misses the mark and doesn't earn the badge?

That way you can determine the best way to respond?

(I can also let you know what happens on my end.)

Thanks so much for all your hard work trying this new idea out!!!

3rd graders learned about digital citizenship.

Students watched a video on BrainPop in which students learned proper behavior online including the do's and don'ts of online behavior. Students applied what they learned by blogging and using Google Apps for Education to explore all the possibilities of online learning. In addition, students worked in groups to collaborate rules and expectations when replying to people's comments on Blogger.  We looked at examples and non-examples of online behavior.
