Since 2013, Louisville has gained more young adults 25-34 with less than a Bachelor's degree than those with a BA or higher. Greensboro is the only peer city that like Louisville, has grown more sub-BA young adults than BA+ young adults. A few cities have seen a decline in their sub-BA young adult populations (Birmingham, Omaha, Indianapolis, Richmond), but this loss is more than offset by a gain of BA+ young adults. Nashville and Raleigh have seen the largest growth in educated young adults, and also have the largest overall growth rate for young adults (surprise!). Richmond's gain of BA+ young adults is on par with Nashville and Raleigh, but due to a loss of sub-BA young adults, it's overall growth rate is lower. Charlotte and Indianapolis have also seen impressive growth rates in their BA+ young adults.Louisville's overall young adult growth rate is slightly below the national average, and ranks 10th among peer cities. Louisville's growth among sub-BA young adults is 2 percentage points greater than the national average. Louisville's growth among BA+ adults is 2.5 percentage points below the national average.
