Throughout my years of working with Xtreme Reading (from
2006 to the present) I have been fortunate to work with many talented and masterful
Xtreme Reading teachers. Prior to the existence of a separate Xtreme Reading
credential, I worked with those Xtreme Reading teachers who were interested in
certification to help them in the completion of Learning Strategies
Professional Developer requirements.
These teachers went above and beyond their Xtreme Reading duties to
learn more SIM strategies and compare the differences between Xtreme Reading’s
sequence of instruction and the sequence found in 8-stage strategies and in
lesson-based strategies. These
individuals have become strong additions to the SIM PDer network. Since the creation of the Xtreme
Reading specialist badge, I have begun to collaborate with Xtreme Reading
teachers who are working to become certified Xtreme Reading PDers.
